Urban Decay | Afterdark Palette | Review

Hey guys, so I’m trying to think up some more review ideas but it’s rather difficult as I haven’t been able to purchase any new makeup for a while, (currently waiting for the next student loan to drop so I can treat myself again).

I thought for this post I’d do a small review on my current favourite eyeshadow palette, Urban Decay’s Afterdark! At £39.50 I can say it is rather expensive but it’s so worth it if you’re an everyday eyeshadow wearer like I am.

This was definitely an impulse buy, I didn’t really research into it I just really enjoyed the colours and hey it’s Urban Decay so I knew it was going to be good quality. The colours in this palette are so bold and bright and I love that they all have a slight shimmer to them. You really can experiment with these as I manage to get bright popping eyes for when I’m feeling that bit extra but also really subtle everyday makeup out of this baby.

IN ORDER L-R: Paralyzed, Fringe, Lounge, Backfire, Druggie, Off Duty, Sinful, Supersonic, Scene & Alter
You get 10 colours in this palette ranging from light to darks. My favourites and most used have to be ‘scene’ and ‘supersonic’ these can be blended nicely together to create subtle ombre style eyes…

I was tired and had uni so this was rushed, but it’s a good example of how subtle the palette can be
I also am in love with the shade ‘fringe’ I’ve used this on a few recent looks you may have seen, especially if you follow me on Instagram, this is a bright green/turquoise colour and pairs amazingly with ‘sinful’. These are two of my favourites to achieve a bold cut crease. It also blends nicely with ‘creep’ from the original Naked palette for more of a smokey eyed look.

It’s also used in my first ever youtube video, so if you’re interested in seeing how it turned out check it out here

This is the palette I use almost every day, if you’re like me and love bright in your face eyeshadow yet sometimes enjoy toning it down this is definitely something you need to add to your collection.

Just to add, it goes so well with the Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Moonchild Glow Kit, those of you who know of this will know it has different pigments in each highlight so it’s nice finding a glow that you can pair with your eyes!

I’d just like to take a moment to thank everyone for the support, your comments and likes mean everything to me because I’m still getting to grips with this whole blogging business!

Love yas,

Court x
