So I’ve been blogging for around 3 months now and it’s becoming increasingly difficult when it comes to finding new content.
Finding new content to write about often requires going out and buying new makeup to review, which is extremely hard when I’m having to save at the same time. Each months my viewings are going down which is slightly deflating but I’m determined to try harder because this blog is something I’m extremely proud of having the confidence to do.
Because of this I’m thinking about introducing a few personal posts every now and then, let me know what you guys would be interested in seeing more of, I’m opening a Q&A page up for everyone to ask me some questions… feel free to tell me what you’d like to see/know about me☺️☺️
These will either be answered in a blog post or one of my very first YouTube videos! Yes, I’m restarting my YouTube channel, I’ve just ordered myself a pretty new camera so I’m real excited💃🏼
Hey guys, been off blogging for a while as I’ve been trying to put my life back together but I thought this would be a good reappearance post. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed creating these various looks.
In this thread you are going to see my face at some rather odd angles, I apologise that some angles really aren’t too pretty.
Some of these are missing purely due to bad makeup/ugly selfie days.
Hey guys, so those of you who have followed my blog from the first few posts will know that I’ve gone from having brown/grey hair to being a blonde again.
Everyone should know by now that bleaching your hair is a dangerous game especially if you’ve been box dying your hair for years (🙋🏼guilty).
I’ve tried many different shampoos/hair masks/hair hacks and nothing has ever seemed to actually make my hair that silky soft blonde I always wanted.
Until I found out about these thanks to the salon I’ve recently been getting my hair done at.
THIS STUFF BLOODY WORKS! I really put it to the test after the second set of highlights I had put in.
So I wanted to try it out, see how my hair would be without this product. I went back to using Tresemmé for around a week and I had to give up because my hair was snapping every minute of every day. The ends were all whispy and my hair just wasn’t soft, it felt brittle and I wanted to cry. As you can see below my hair when straight would just be fluffy all the time, which I hate!
After 1 WASH of using this again my hair isn’t snapping anymore and look how good the condition of it actually is now. When I straighten my hair it stays straight, silky and non fluffy!
I used to ignore the whole looking after your hair after dying it but now I see why you really do have to do this. Spend that little bit more money on a decent shampoo & conditioner ladies because honestly it’ll do you and your confidence wonders💁🏼
This stuff isn’t cheap but also not completely break the bank expensive seeing as it lasts a while. I get mine off Feel Unique for around £30 for the both of them, and my previous bottles lasted me 2.5/3 months!
For anyone with damaged hair due to bleaching/box dyes seriously consider this stuff or replace your hair wash for any other one with protein in because you will see a huge difference!
Please comment below if there’s anything you’d like me to review/talk about in any of my upcoming posts
Also I’m aiming to get to 1000 views by the end of the month, lets make this happen and I may do a giveaway🎉🎉
They’ve got some proper purdy things up at the moment and I’m crying at how poor I am.
These are just a few of my favourite items that I wish I could wear/could afford to buy. As soon as my money comes in I’m in much need of some retail therapy and can see a few of these items hitting my wardrobe!
They’re an amazing little brand and their stuff is brilliant quality. I’ve had a lot of small online stores where I’ve received items and they’ve been easily ripped or they look great on the site and when you receive it, what was meant to be a full black bodysuit may as well be mesh it’s that see-through! I can assure you that will not happen when ordering from here!
Taking inspiration from the likes of Kylie & Kendall Jenner, Charlotte Crosby and many TOWIE cast members they’re range knows all the tips to keeping up with whats on trend so take a look and treat yourself♡
Don’t forget to use my discount code ‘Courtney10’ at checkout for 10% off your order, every item featured in this post is linked in the caption to save yourselves searching through the whole website😊
Hey guys, so I’m trying to think up some more review ideas but it’s rather difficult as I haven’t been able to purchase any new makeup for a while, (currently waiting for the next student loan to drop so I can treat myself again).
I thought for this post I’d do a small review on my current favourite eyeshadow palette, Urban Decay’s Afterdark! At £39.50 I can say it is rather expensive but it’s so worth it if you’re an everyday eyeshadow wearer like I am.
This was definitely an impulse buy, I didn’t really research into it I just really enjoyed the colours and hey it’s Urban Decay so I knew it was going to be good quality. The colours in this palette are so bold and bright and I love that they all have a slight shimmer to them. You really can experiment with these as I manage to get bright popping eyes for when I’m feeling that bit extra but also really subtle everyday makeup out of this baby.
You get 10 colours in this palette ranging from light to darks. My favourites and most used have to be ‘scene’ and ‘supersonic’ these can be blended nicely together to create subtle ombre style eyes…
I also am in love with the shade ‘fringe’ I’ve used this on a few recent looks you may have seen, especially if you follow me on Instagram, this is a bright green/turquoise colour and pairs amazingly with ‘sinful’. These are two of my favourites to achieve a bold cut crease. It also blends nicely with ‘creep’ from the original Naked palette for more of a smokey eyed look.
It’s also used in my first ever youtube video, so if you’re interested in seeing how it turned out check it out here♡
This is the palette I use almost every day, if you’re like me and love bright in your face eyeshadow yet sometimes enjoy toning it down this is definitely something you need to add to your collection.
Just to add, it goes so well with the Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Moonchild Glow Kit, those of you who know of this will know it has different pigments in each highlight so it’s nice finding a glow that you can pair with your eyes!
I’d just like to take a moment to thank everyone for the support, your comments and likes mean everything to me because I’m still getting to grips with this whole blogging business!
As you all know make-up artistry is becoming a really big part of our generation and has been growing rapidly, bringing in a massive following through multiple social media platforms. So here’s some tips for those of you wanting to get into make-up/progress in your make-up skills.
Don’t head straight in with the big expensive brands
You don’t want to be splashing out £40+ on a palette that you can’t get the hang of, drug stores are everywhere and if you know what shades you’re looking for you’ll notice a lot of places sell dupes. Superdrug is always a great place to look for cheap but also decent quality brands (MUA and Makeup Revolution being two very popular examples of this).
Beauty blenders – A make-up bag must have!
Cant get to grips with blending out your contour with a brush? Unsure of how to apply foundation to get a more even coverage? A damp beauty blender is enough to solve all of this and you can pick them up cheap, mine cost me £3 from Boots and I can’t live without it!
Less can be more
Not everyone can pull off these cut creases and bright green lips. Trust me, those that can probably wish they could pull off the more natural look themselves. So rock those nude lip shades and soft brown eye shadows, and forget about what’s “trendy” in the make-up world.
Just because it works for them, doesn’t mean it’ll work for you…
Tutorials are ways in which many people can learn how to apply/blend/learn all different make up techniques. However, don’t be disheartened just because your favourite YouTuber’s styles don’t work for you. Everyone has their own techniques and styles, practice all different ones and stick with what you know and are comfortable with.
Finally, practice does make perfect
Let’s be honest here you’re not gonna be the next MUA after only a few attempts, it takes these people years to be able to perfect their style. So like everything else practice makes perfect. All good things don’t occur instantly, these things take time and most importantly HAVE FUN WITH IT.
Above are a few of my recent make up looks, as you can clearly see practice does help and I am far from being perfect still but maybe one day. A great tip is just finding what works for you in terms of products, brushes and application.
